Questions people ask
Does every item cost β¬3 in the EU?+
Every different item category does. Two tees count once; a tee and a hoodie count twice. Colours of the same item don't add categories. It applies to parcels worth β¬150 or less.
My line is tax-free β do I still pay?+
Tax-free (IOSS) lines prepay the VAT, but since 1 July 2026 the β¬3-per-category customs duty is charged on top.
What about the UK?+
Parcels worth Β£135 or less have no customs duty, and the 20% VAT is normally collected by the shipping line. Above Β£135, duty and VAT are charged at the border.
And the US?+
Parcels from China no longer have a duty-free allowance; duty is a percentage of the declared value. The rate has changed several times, so check cbp.gov and put the current rate in the calculator.
